I first heard about With Purpose after growing close with a professor and his wife, who turned out to be the parents of Sam Lee and the founders of With Purpose. I fell in love with their story and their heart for making Sam’s story heard.
After meeting with Erin Benson herself to learn about the dark truth of childhood cancer research and treatment, I knew I had to join the cause. My friend actually founded the College of Charleston With Purpose chapter, and we began brainstorming ways to show our campus and community just how important it is to understand the realities of childhood cancer and fight to change that story.
I am excited to see this chapter grow and to continue in the fight to END pediatric cancer. It has been an honor and a joy working alongside the family that started it all, and I look forward to seeing the movement spread so that Sam’s life continues to serve as a message of strength, unconditional love, and the power to change a system by standing up for what is right.
